Physics Outreach

The Physics Circus program allows UCSB students to inspire groups of K-12 students via hands-on physics demonstrations. I regularly participated in Physics Circus demonstrations for a total of 3 quarters.

Advanced Lab

I conducted several advanced experiments with a team of other undergraduates. We used optical equipment to investigate Michelson and Fabry-Perot interferometry, analog muon detection equipment to measure the muon's average lifetime and flux, and a radioactive source to find properties of hyperfine splitting with recoil-free gamma ray absorption.

Our group(s) worked together to deepen our understanding of advanced physics through experimental work, but we wrote our lab reports seperately. The lab reports I wrote are attached below.

Quantum Mechanics

Physics 115A is designed to promote mastery of quantum mechanics in one dimension, following the first three chapters of Griffiths' quantum mechanics textbook. Although I initially struggled in this class, I was able to improve my understanding of the material over the course of the quarter and do very well on the final exam.

Teaching Physics

Physics 180 is a comprehensive and demanding education class that encourages students to follow the cutting edge of pedagogical research to enhance their educational skills.

Introductory Mechanics and Special Relativity

Although extenuating circumstances occurred late in the semester (preventing me from achieving a high grade in this class in Spring 2023), I developed a strong relationship with the professor by attending office hours and expressing interest beyond the scope of the class. I've attached a project inspired by this class that I brought to discuss in office hours. I created the project in May 2023 and retrieved the project from Jupyter Notebooks in August 2024.

Methods of Theoretical Physics: Complex Analysis

In my complex analysis class, I had the incredible opportunity to relate a concept in complex analysis to an everyday application. In ten weeks of hard work and creativity, I wrote a paper relating origami to conformal mapping and received a grade of 100% on the final paper. The attached pdf was retrieved from LaTex in August 2024.
